  1. Finished Project: Daybreak Shawl.

    September 26, 2011 by enid

Finally a completed project. I have been MIA for a while now, and for that I apologize. My mom is here on vacation from Chile, and my aunt also came. So I have had a house full and up until now didn’t have a second to myself to post anything. But since we are crafty woman, I’ve been able to share knitting details and work on projects. I really love having my family here, but sadly the time just fly and soon our visit will be over. I think I’m going to have to stock up on some tissue boxes, for our drive to the airport.

In these few days, I was able to finish daybreak. Neapolitan Daybreak I call it. čÖé

I soaked it over night. No reason really, just worked out that way. No color bleeds, like my friends shawl that I blocked. I didn’t have blocking wires this time so I used the pins. After using blocking wires, I realized that pins are not so friendly, but they did the job.

    Neapolitan flavors.

It always surprises me how much a shawl will grow. But then again this is only my second shawl. LOL.

    Close up

I’ve included to to see the color progressions. Not sure how well they will translate on your computer screens.

Coming up next: a short little photo show and tell on how to block a circular shawl. Gorgeous shawl, I know you will love it.

  2. Projects: What’s on the needle.

    So far so good.

Projects I have many, but my pet project for the moment is Daybreak by Stephen West. I recently inherited a generous amount of palette from KnitPicks. I have to break right here and say “I’m one lucky woman.” One friend gave me the yarn and another gave me the inspiration to start this project. She even helped with the color choices. Love them. At first I thought the colors would be “meh” or “herpderp” but once it is knitted up in the stripped pattern the color changes are so subtle that it works perfect. What do you think?
