  1. A welcoming jubilee

    July 21, 2011 by admin

As my first post I think I’ll start off with a little Jubilee. Zen String’s Jubilee that is. A really good friend of mine had to move so she decided to do a little de-stashing before the big trip to her new home. I came away with a few things and 2 skeins of Jubilee was among them. 50% Merino Wool and 50% Tussah silk, Leelee is the color way.

And this is usually the scenario for me and I’m sure many of you. Okay maybe just me. I had 500 yards of worsted weight and too many ideas to begin or perhaps I didn’t have any so this time I just started on one thing and see where it would take me.

The clapotis scarf was first on the needles with this soft squishy yummy yarn. I used the pattern adaptation on the kpixie site. I never really know how long to take a scarf. Think I might have prematurely casted off, but at 58 inches long it seems like a nice length for it.

At this point I had about a skein and a half left. So I searched the depths of ravelry and found the Unicorn Pegasus Rainbow Scarf by Huan-Hua Chye. Garter stitch knitted on a bias, love love loved it. I think this one is going to be mine.
